Released for the big screen in 2009, the film generated controversy for its views of America's corporate controlled food industry, concluding that food produced by agribusiness has hidden costs and is unhealthy and environmentally harmful.

The film is narrated by Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto) and features Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), along with social entrepreneurs like Stonyfield's Gary Hirshberg and Polyface Farms' Joel Salatin.

The screening is co-hosted by local food activist organizations Food and Water Watch, Grow Local Colorado and Transition Denver which are collaborating to draw attention to an ongoing Department of Justice and US Department of Agriculture investigation into the lack of competition in food production and distribution. After the showing of the film, viewers will hear about USDA and DOJ workshops taking place around the country and about how they can participate in a public workshop coming up in Fort Collins on August 27.
