Working primarily in pastel, often combining with watercolor or acrylic, Ginny Abblett has studied with numerous artists in the United States, Hong Kong and Japan. Plein Air is her mode of choice and she has carted materials to paint on location throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan. An artist since childhood, Ginny studied Art and Education in college. She pursued a teaching career, with art providing balance in this often demanding field. A member of the Pastel Society of Colorado, Ginny's Work has earned numerous awards throughout the state.
Her confident hand and vibrant palette result in dreamlike landscapes and studies. Ginny's paintings are in private and public collections throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. She presently is represented by Garden and Soul Gallery in Taos, NM, and is a member and resident in Nine10Arts Gallery/Studios in Denver, CO. Ginny teaches pastel classes in the Denver area, including The Denver Botanic Gardens. Ginny also has a home in Taos where she teaches plein air workshops. |
